Mt. Makiling Forest Reserve is a protected forest and an ASEAN Heritage Park covering about 4,244 hectares across Laguna and Batangas. It is known for its rich biodiversity, forest trails, scenic mountain surroundings, and natural attractions such as Mud Springs and Flat Rocks. The reserve is managed by the University of the Philippines Los Baños through the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems.
Wear proper hiking shoes, bring enough water and personal essentials, follow entry and registration rules, stay on designated trails, and avoid hiking during unsafe weather conditions.
